Shriekback, Matthew Dear, Sigur Ros, Soulwax, Natalie Portmans Shaved Head, Alien Sex Fiend, Delta 5 etc... Enjoy

First Hour of the Show
Simple Minds – Premonition
A track from their second album, pure class. They have apparently reformed with this line-up, I hope they get back to making music like this
Shriekback – Health and Knowledge and Wealth and Power
Kings of the alternative dancefloor in the mid to late 80's, they sit nicely in the space between The The and Fad Gadget, leftfield dance at its finest
(Matt Johnson) The The – (Like A) Sun Rising
This is from Matt Johnson's first album, its a bit uneven but it has hints towards the genius to come
The Ting Tings – Keep Your Head
Another Great Manchester band, from Salford, Indie Pop at its finest
They Came From The Stars I Saw Them – The Hot Inc.
Fantastic song from the fantasticaly named band from London
Natalie Portmans Shaved Head – Sophisticated Side Ponytail
Seattle's Natalie Portmans Shaved Head with this brilliant slice of lunacy, guarranteed to make you smile whilst dancing yer ass off...
Ladyhawke – BOTV (Van She Tech Turbo Fire Engine Remix)
Modular band Ladyhawke from Sydney (and other places, a multicultural band) with this sexy and stomping electro heaven remix by Labelmates Van She, guarranteed to get you sweating like a pony
Goose – 3T4
Belgiums finest Indie Electro Dancemasters with another cool track, proving that British Mode is not just a one-off, definately a band to watch
Alien Sex Fiend – Aint Got Time To Bleed
A Classic from a Classic band, the band that typified the Bat Cave and an era. Pre Electro Goth madness from the ugliest man (next to Shane McGowan) in music, Nik Fiend... spectacular
Does it Offend you, Yeah? – Lets Make Out (Stripe Remix)
UK's Does it Offend you, Yeah? remixed and grooved up, stupendous
Siouxsie – Into a Swan (Weatherall Mix)
Andrew Weatherall's remix of Siouxsies allready cool Into a Swan from the Mantaray album, lovely. Mr Weatherall still has the magic in his fingers
Soulwax – Another Excuse (DFA Remix)
DFA remix of Belgiums Soulwax, themselves the master remixes, absolutely skull crunchingly brilliant, driving bass from another dimension
The Cramps – Love Me
The worlds MADDEST band EVER with further proof of why they are loved by MANY.... "You Set My Heart On Fire...." woooohoooooo
2nd Hour of Show
Future Loop Foundation – Sunshine Philosophy
This track is so summery and sunshiney it just makes you want to run naked in the fields, like in a toilet paper commercial....
Sigur Ros – Hljómalind
Icelandic beauty transformed into music, glacial
Mazzy Star – So Tonight That I Might See (For WANDA)
Sandoval and co in a ritualistic durge of pure genius, from their first album of the same name
Rekleiner – Some People
Lifted from Mixmags Tiefschwarz mix of this month, minimal tekno at its finest
A Number of NamesSharevari (Instrumental)
This is the original Tekno track Detroit, truly amazing that this track is from 1981, stomper of a track, it deserves our adulation

Matthew DearDon and Sherri
Texan Matthew Dear from his album Asa Breed. Hot Chip also do a version, the album is full of wonderfuly dark brooding tekno from the old school ala Trentemoller and Biosphere (imho)
Liaisons DangereusesLos Niños del Parque [12' Mix]
German band with a French name singing in Spanish, French and English with ties to Einsterzende Neubauten and DAF, it doesn't get any better (and stranger) than this, this track saw Electro coming from afar and mastered it before it existed, kinda like Dance with Mussolini on crack...
The Au Pairs – Inconvenience (12” Mix)
Riot Grrrl forerunners and pioneers, GREAT band from Birmingham, formed in 1979, this is from the Playing with a different Sex album
Delta 5 – Mind Your Own Business
Delta 5 from Leeds were an important figure in the post punk scene in the UK with leftfield ideologies. They were heavily involved in the Rock Against Racism movement
New Young Pony ClubIce Cream (The Hooks Remix)
This has the coolest driving basslines of any remix I have heard in the past year, freaking awesome. It's made me fall in love with this song all over again
Late of the Pier – Space & the Woods (The Neon Plastix Remix)
Nottinghams up and coming new band remixed lovingly by Neon Plastix...
Midnight Juggernauts - Scorpius
Melbourne's The Midnight Juggernauts with this space filler from the Dystopia album, we love them, we love them a lot
Vivien Goldman - Launderette
A post punk classic from a journalist collaborating with the likes of John Lydon. She is the founding member of the Flying Lizards (they of Money, that's what I want fame), wrote songs for Massive Attack, penned the first biography of Bob Marley... a true Icon. Cool song too, LOVELY bassline (I seem to be into basslines today)

This Mondays show with Yazoo, Mazzy Star, Prototypes, Hadouken!, Does it Offend you, Yeah?

This Mortal CoilSong to the Siren
Still one of the greatest cover versions of any song ever done, Elizabeth Frazier and Robin Guthrie of The Cocteau Twins under the 4 AD collective TMC completely rework the Tim Buckley classic, it doesn't get more beautiful and stark than this
Mazzy Star – Mary of Silence
Speaking of beautiful and stark, Hope Sandoval and David Roback made some truly dreamy hippy-goth tinged music on their two albums, this is from the first album, So Tonight I Might See... the same one that gave the world Fade Into You
Yazoo – Midnight
Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet made the most unlikely collaboration under the moniker Yazoo, Clarke had recently split from the group he founded (Depeche Mode) and Alison Moyet a blues singer but they made some of the most startling and long lasting music of the 1980's, probably influencing countless bedroom muso's and pioneering the one fingered synth technique. This was Clarkes blueprint for his most successful project still to come, Erasure. I still prefer Yazoo though.
Bjork Earth Intruders (xxxchange mix) for Sylvia (vote for her)
Bjork is by far the most successful export from Iceland, she seems to approach her music from a completely different way from anyone on the planet. She is fiercly independant and it shows in her glacial and challenging music.
Check out Sylvia's blog and VOTE FOR HER
Cazals – We’re just the same
British Indie band, fiends of Pete Doherty (have toured with Babyshambles)from the Kitsune released album What of our future
Prototypes – Dans sur le merde (Doperwerwolf Remix)
French Electro Pop awesomeness gets a cool reworking by Doperwerewolf...lovely

Johnny Cash – God’s Gonna Cut You Down
This is from Johnny Cash's final album, the American Recording V album he finished shortly before he passed away, this track is one of my all time favourite Cash songs, simple and to the point a BEAUTIFUL song that one wishes one wrote oneself, he was a genius
Hadouken! – Driving Nowhere
This is a track from their Music for an Accelarated Culture offering, for me this falls into the space between Bloc Party and pure unadultarated 80's synthpop circa 1984.... this can only be a good thing
Judge Dread – Skin Lake
A radical ska reworking of Tcaikowsky's Swan Lake, so awesome it should have a planet named after it.... stomp yer boots to this skanking fair
Does it offend you, Yeah? – Weird Science
Reading based 4 piece band from their "You have no idea what you are getting yourself into" offering. Awesome electro/punk electronica
Ratatat – Mirando (mmmathias remix)
Brooklyns finest instrumentalists given the mmmathias treatment
The Presets – My People (Mouse On Mars Terror Pretz Reamix)
This is a brutally driven remix by Mouse on Mars guaranteed to make you lose control on the dance floor when this one is dropped in by some smug DJ....
Cut//Copy – Hearts on Fire (Midnight Juggernautz Remix)
For Melbourne by Melbourne, this is an awe inspiring remix of the Cut//Copy track from their In Ghost Colours album on Modular Records
Foals – Electric Bloom (PHTPS Dusk Mix)
Sub Pops Foals from Oxford in the UK's minimalist elctronica at its finest

P
This Mondays Show:

It was a pubic horrorday yesterday and as such I was too lazy to update this:) LOTS of new tracks, some old as is my wont.... thanks Izabella......to the bloke who phoned last night for a dedication, sorry i wasn't able to help you out:(
First Hour

Echo and the Bunnymen – In Bluer Skies
The final track on the amazing Porcupine album, moody, atmospheric... shows why the Bunnymen were one of the reasons it was great to be alive in the 80's
Tokyo Police Club – In a Cave
This is the first offering from their brilliant Debut full length album "Elephant Shell"
Cocteau Twins – Peppermint Pig
This was the first time I ever heard the otherworldly voice of Elizabeth Frasier, I was hooked. This track is brilliant, it's from one of my most prized possessions, the 12" single, The Twins get dancey (kinda)
The Young Punx – You’ve Got To… (Norman Cook Mix)
This remix is the cutest remix of any track I have heard in a long time, Drum and Bass at its finest (Norman Cooke style)
Son of Dave – Old Times Were Good Times
A beat-box and a harmonica never sounded so good...
Prototypes – Un Coup De Langue
Only the French could come up with an electro 80's style slice of coolness like this, wicked. From the awesome album Synthetique
Pony Pony Run Run – Boy/Girl Surrender (Summer Edit)
French powerpop brilliance
Goose – British Mode (Prepmode’s Heavy on the Kick Mix)
Awesome remix of this fantastic Belgian Indie band, the coolest riff of last year

Pop Levi – Oh God (What Can I Do?)
He used to play with Ladytron as their bassist, he is also known as Mozambique Courier. Lovely.
The Young Punx – Your Music Is Killing Me
Mad Electro House mash-up opera stomper
The Young Punx – Rockall (Krafty Kuts Mix)
WICKED remix by the Krafty Kuts, freaking awesome
Martina Topley Bird – Carnies
The voic eon Trickeys's debut Maxinquaye. HAs been likened to a modern day Etta James, high praise indeed
Yazoo – Softly Over
Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode and started this group with Blues vocalist Alison Moyet. They only did two full albums but they are filled with amazing tracks such as Goodbye 70's, Winter Kills, Only You and this slice of 80's brilliance from the album You and Me Both. Quite why they had to be called Yaz in the states, I will never know
Prototypes – Go To Hell Madamoiselle
Another piece of brilliance from their third album Synthetique

Radioactive Man – State of That
DJ Keith Tenniswood, partner in crime of Andrew Weatherall of Two Lone Sworsmen
MSTRKRFT – Vuvuvu
Canada's finest Electro nutters with an awesome track from their EP Bounce/Vuvuvu
Holy Fuck – Lovely Allen (Riton Rerub)
Toronto's Holy Fuck, from their latest album LP
Valerna – Touch
Originally from Boston based in LA, sexy Dance music....
Wax Tailor – Ungodly Fruit
French Hip Hop producer/DJ Jean-Christophe Le Saoût's brilliant stripped down Trip Hop type piece of funky heaven
Die Haut – Tokyo Express
German instrumental band best known for collaborating with Nick Cave and members also became part of the Bad Seeds collective.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Fleeting Love
The B-Side to the More News From Nowhere single. Nick NEVER fails to dissapoint
Drive-By ArgumentThe Sega Method
Pioneers of a genre called "Four-to-the-floor unhappy hardcore", this Ayr band from Scotland is definately one to watch
Chaingang – Get off my stage
Sydney based band, gutar driven madness with the coolest female vocals I have heard for a long time

Kav – Blaggers & Liars
London's Kavin "Kav" Sandhu formwer frontman of SonicAudio. This is his latest solo stuff, very cool
Cazals – Somebody, Somewhere (xTopher Remix)
London based The Cazals on the brilliant Kitsune label

Tonights Show 09 June 2008 including New Ladytron, Thompson Twins and The Au Pairs

This Mondays Show:

Hmmmmm, our parties don't seem to be getting done yet, will let you know when the ACTUAL dates are, we need final sign off for one of the venues, so that means we still are to do our first Deconstruction party for the year, sigh... anyhoo, cool show including The Thompson Twins, a guilty pleasure of mine from the 80's, also including Foetus, the Polysics and the new Ladytron.....
1st Hour of Show
Tubeway Army – You are in my vision
This was when Gary Numan was at his finest, glacial. David Bowie might hate him but we don't
Thompson Twins – Love on your side
This is a guilty pleasure for me, I was a HUGE fan for many years, I even went so far as to become a member of their fan club, I have a cool collection of old photo's signed by the band as well as Allanah Currie's glove (fucking tiny, looks like it was a 10 year olds:))
Franz Ferdinand – Tell her tonight
From the debut album, can't wait for new music from them
You’ve Got Foetus On Your Breath – Mark of the Ostracizor
JG Thirlwell, another insane genius from Melbourne Australia (my all time favourite musician comes from closeby, no prizes for guessing who THAT is). The name and brand Foetus is a stroke of genius really, decidedly sick and perverse, but awesome none the less, my fiend Guy and I used to listen to them in his bedroom before going out to conquer the world (and more hopefully women's hearts, hahhahahahah)
The Fall – Pat Trip Dispenser
Manchesters second greatest band of all time, hot on the heels of a certain band previously known as The Warsaw, then named themselves after Jewish prostitutes pleasuring German soldiers, yes, you guessed it: Joy Division. The water is good in Manchester (cleasrly it is because that is where the greatest football team is on the planet, the Red half of course)
Joy Division – Day of the lords
What more can be said about this unbelievable and mythical band, I hate to say it but I do not think that New Order ever acchieved the same heights of genius and creativity, a sens of Isolation....
Cut//Copy – Midnight Runner
80's inspired brilliance out of Australia, Cut//Copy and The Presets are two of the most dynamic and forward thinking bands around in the world at the moment, lovely, makes me want to move to Melbourne (as if I needed any excuse to want to do that anyway)
The Presets – Kicking and Screaming
Speaking of The Presets, this is from the new album Apocalypso
NIN – The beginning of the end (Ladytron Remix)
This is from the Year Zero remixes, fantastic remix by the very talented Liverpudlian band Ladytron

Ladytron – Season of Illusions
This is from the new album Velocifero, it is awesome, it doesn't dissapoint in the least
The Au Pairs – It’s Obvious
A post-punk classic that had me dancing like a crazy person at clubs like The Playground, The Junction and Le Club (where I later ended up DJ'ing for a long time), "You're equal but different.... It's Obvious..." BRILLIANT
Thompson Twins - Watching
Back to my guilty pleasure, SUCH a great album, it has been reissued by Demon remastered including ALL the remixes, great!! Let's start a campaign to bring them back into prominence, I mean, they sold over 20 million albums in the early to mid 80's and now no-one really remembers or respects them... more respect is given to that twat boy george (note no capital letters) and he is an awful sexual deviant... disgusting
The Polysics – Wild One for Leeney
Fantastic, they termselves as "technicolor pogo punk", who am I to argue that?
Siouxsie – About to Happen Siouxsie
A fantastic song from a fantastic album from a fantastic singer, a legend really, like Michael Foot
2nd Hour of tonight's show
Can – Oh Yeah (Secret Knowledge mix)
Holger Czukay and his merry band of Krautrockers, probably the most important of that movement,a sound that defined a sound, a genre. Updated in 2003 (or somehwere near there)
Crystal Castles – Through the hosiery
GREAT new band from Toronto, better known for their brilliant remixes of the likes of The Klaxons etc, their debut album is a gem
The Go! Team – Flashlight Fight (Feat Chuck D)
What more can you say about this band, using as guest MC who else but the phenomenal "Fight The Power" man himself of Public Enemy, Chuck D!!!
Goldfrapp – Road to Somewhere
Alison and fiend come back from an electro masterpiece with an accoustic masterpice, great album
The National – Mistaken for Strangers
Brooklyn based indie rockers echo bands such as the Tindersticks and our Lord and Saviour, Nick Cave... The Boxer is a great album with many surprises and gems buried beneath its moribund exterior, well worth MANY listens
Metric – Love is a Place
Beautiful stripped down song from the amazingly talented Emily Haines, one of Canada's finest
The Go! Team – Ladyflash (Simian Mobile Disco Remix)
Simian Mobile Disco make this allready great track STOMP, as a DJ, it is a pleasure to use this track in a set
MSTRKRFT – Work on you
Toronto's finest Electro stompers, new album out in September, CAN'T WAIT
The Mystery Jets – The boy who ran away (Riton Re-Rub)
5 piece English band... SOLID
Slow Club – Summer Shakedown
Folksy and pretty, lovely band
Guilty Simpson – Home Invazion
What does one follow up a future folk classic with? HIP HOP, WOOHOOOO
Marbert Rocel – Tttictictac
Tres Jolie this one, tres jolie
Simple Minds – Thirty Frames a Second
Empires and Dance was an unbelievable album, this is a classic from a classic album, when Simple Minds were forward thinking and brilliant, I have it on good authority that they have reformed with the original lineup, I hope this is a good sign, more of the same from this era please:) Leave the Gaelic Stadium Rock to the Irish pomp rockers U2 please, go back to your Roxy Music inspired routes
Thompson Twins – We are detective
What better to finish off the two hours than a classic for the Smash Hits generation of pop lovers, pure 80's brilliant cheese, god bless them Twins

ElectroCity

ElectroCity
A mix I did including Trentemoller, Hot Chip, Simian Mobile Disco, Boys Noize, Justice, Depeche Mode, Herve, Digitalism, Dave Gahan, Audion.
We are doing a party soon for Deconstruction and I am contemplating giving free CD mixes away, this one is one of the ones I am contemplating.

I did the mix purely on CD on the 25th May 2008 in my room, I had too many CD's piled on my trusty turntables, it's chaos in my room, cables everywhere to my laptop from my mixer. CD's and Vinyl lying everywhere and my flightcase on the spare bed, hahahaha!
Let me know what you think
