Depeche Mode – Its No Good (Megamodes ETS Remix) Taken from the Agent Orange Remix album, nicely reworked Alien Sex Fiend – Hurricane Fighter Plane Nik Fiend and his bunch of nutters with this dancefloor classic. Originally released in 1987. Thompson Twins – The Gap This is from the Alex Sadkin produced 1984 album Into the Gap. At this point The Thompson Twins were one of the most popular bands in the world. They sold over 20 million albums and now no-one seems to remember them, a real shame as this band was a gem of a band in the 80's, The Knife – Like a Pen (Thomas Schumacher Remix) From the album Silent Shout, remixed to a housey stomper by Mr Schumacher. Hard On – Dance with no legs Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany T!t - The Bitch, Dick - The Brain, Ass - The Heart, Gingahead - Special Guest Hard On are children of the 90’s, witnesses of the electronic age and free access to pornography. Sex is salacious! We, ‘T!T, Dick & Ass’ from Cologne, have finally detached ourselves from any deadlocked music styles to create our own sound influenced by Rap, Techno and Punk. Since half a year Hard On has taken much pleasure in producing songs. We enjoy our shared love for music and beer in the homelike living room, and to perform at our practice room. The White Stripes vs Disco Trash Music – Seven RAVE Nation Army A classic remixed and reworked Disco Trash style. Be a part of the Rave Nation (or don't, it's up to you) The Birthday Party – Say a Spell Rowland S. Howard penned track from 1983 shortly before this genius band imploded Mick Harvey – I Don’t Want you on my mind Nick Cave's multi-instrumentalist right hand man from Birthday Party days and main Bad Seed from his solo album Two of Diamonds Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – I Let Love In The man himself with Mr Harvey and Bad Sees in tow from the album Let Love In. He keeps reminding us how brilliant he is. M83 – Kim & Jessie (DaTa Remix) Shoegazers from Antibes in France. This is from their latest album Saterdays = Youth remixed DaTa style Trash Yourself & The Toxic Avenger – Song 2 (Trashed) This has to be the most radical and groundbreaking cover I have heard in years, it completely reinvents and reconstructs the Blur classic (which was allready an amazing song). Almost completely unrecognizable from the original, completely original and awe inspiring 2nd Hour of Show
Chemical Brothers vs Kasabian – Block Rocking Club Foot One of the coolest mash ups ever, who knew they would work so well together? The Chems get Club Footed. Block Rocking Beats indeed LCD Soundsystem – Get Innocuous (Soulwax Remix) Soulwax doing what they do best, taking the Sound Of Silver track and making it even more dancey and catchy, its hard to improve on an original but Soulwax do this effortlesly time and time again Play Paul – 9am (Disco Trash Music Remix) This slice of heaven has been thumping out of my car speakers this past week keeping me happy in crappy traffic Thompson Twins – Doctor Doctor The Thompson twins again from their 1984 classic album Into The Gap "Doctor Doctor, Can't you see I'm Burning Burning, Oh, Doctor Doctor, Is this love I'm feeling..." Classic Simian Mobile Disco – Hotdog (Chewy Chocolate CookiesRemix) From the Attack Decay Sustain Release album give the Chewy Cocolate treatment, HOTDOG Alien Sex Fiend – Inferno (Oscar Madness Mix by Youth) This ASF track is remixed into a circa 1995 trance tour de force by The Killing Joke's Youth Dave Gahan – Kingdom (Digitalism Mix) From Dave Gahans recent album, our German heroes have done what they do with anything they do, made it into a monster of a dancefloor classic Syntonics vs Medley – Don’t Stop Pop (Medley on Video Remix) Electronic duo SYNTONICS is Barbi Castelvi (vocals/production) and Mitchell Anthony Gomes (vocals,production/turntables). From Miami Bass beats and 80's Freestyle hooks, to New Wave synths and Electro-pop sensibilities, their retro-futurist productions capture elements of both past and present soundscapes . Mitchell Anthony Gomes a.k.a. Cryogenetic (Dj Cryo) , producer of many styles of electronic/electro music, began producing in the early 90's and has produced over 20 full length albulms under numerous guises. In 2002 Dj Godfather's Detroit label "Twilight 76" released the e.p. "Complex Cities" bringing Cryo's underground status to a more internatonal level. Barbi Castelvi, a multi-instrumentalist, dj and vocalist has a history in the recording arts also dating back to the early 90's. By singing on internationally released house and techno singles, as well as playing in new wave/rock bands for years, Castelvi finds a way to bridge her unique vocal stylings together with the signature electronic productions of Gomes. With the hopes of originating new sounds, the pair continue to produce well written pop songs in the paradigm of new wave electro/booty Bjork vs LFO – Hyperballad (The Freak Mashup) Bjorks classic track from the Post album mashed up with LFO Muse – Map of the Problematique (Does it Offend You, Yeah? Remix) Does it Offend You, Yeah? reworking Muse. Normally remixes of Muse are a bit on the dodgy side but this is an exception, tres cool House of Pain – Jump Around (DeadMau5 Remix) DeadMau5 staying true to himself and the House of Pain classic, Jump Around, Jump Jump Jump Jump Jump..........

Let them stay in grimey bedsits struggling to get by and blow up all their previous misconceptions about a country? Well, you get the Birthday Party, and they were ANGRY, and we love them so... The Horrors – She is the new thing This is a watered down Birthday Party for a new generation, pretty cool none the less. I think its time for a new album boys.. Malcolm McLaren's "social experiment", its still being felt today, however, the "punk" of today compared to what it was when it first made its fetid way onto an unsuspecting world are complete polar opposites. How awesome would this be, unfortunately I am stuck in South Africa, I would KILL to do this.
This Mondays Show: The show is for Leeney as she is leaving us for a while to go and chill with Buddhist nuns for three months. We have Cult Hero (Robert Smith, his bassist and a postman), Palace of Pleasure, Pravda23, Kliktrak, Grinderman etc....
Cult Hero – I’m a cult hero Robert Smith didn't like his original bassist (Michael Dempsey) much, he met a new bassist (Simon Gallup), to see if they could work well together, he formed a band with their postman, Frank Bell. They called it Cult Hero, Simon Gallup was hired and a postman had some fun and minor celebrity with a future anti-hero... lovely The Kills – what new york used to be Cool track from there most recent offering Midnight Boom Material – don’t lose control (dance version) Mr Bill Laswell and fiends with this slice of leftfield dance from the 80's, damn fine. Bill Laswell is an amazing bassist and he is still doing groundbreaking music today... find him, love him Simian – Sunshine Simian were a fourpiece, they bought out two albums, then they split... this is from the second album We Are Your Friends.... Simian Mobile Disco - Clock They split and two of the members namely James Ellis Ford and James Anthony Shaw formed SMD and we are thankful for that, freaking awesome!! Palace of Pleasure – Another Deal Norwegian electronica kings with the title track from their new album out in September, This lends itself to a youth spent in ones bedroom listening to Gene Loves Jezebel and Echo and the Bunnymen Heaven up Here and taking many notes Depeche Mode – The Darkest Star What would a show of mine be without the MODE!!! This is the last track on the Playing the Angel album, I am still waiting to be dissapointed by a DM album.. Cabaret Voltaire – Sensoria (Bloody Beetroots vs Sir Billy Experience RMX) The Cab's classic reworked and electrofied stupendously by them Blood Beetroots and the Sir Billy Experience, it hasn't left my car CD player for 4 days:) MtKidU – Nudark Jozi's finest leftfield thinking mans Electronica, check them out and give them some love Kliktrak - Electrospheric (Edit 11) Durbans finest electro tekno twiddler with another reason why i am a committed fan, you should be too Pravda 23 – Forgetfulness Pravda23 Cape Towns Pravda23 with an unforgettable track, got this from Electrotrash's fine collection of free MP3's of our local talent, proving we have what it takes to take on the world stage Noise Floor Crew vs Portishead – Machine Gun (RMX) The new album has many brilliant tracks, this one is probably my favourite at the moment, the remix is astounding 2nd Hour of Show
The Cure – In Your House This is the title track of The Cure's second album, a radical departure from the first album Three Imaginary Boys and a blueprint for their carreer to come, the album also has one of my all time favourite tracks A Forest Cult Hero – I Dig You Galluping Bob and his postman digging you Grinderman – No Pussy Blues Lord Nick complaing about something that he has never experienced, still great, the man is a genius, I love the fact that he is calling all the shots on his carreer and constantly reinventing himself, who knew that he played guitar so well, the only other time I can remember him playing guitar on any track was for The Girl At The Bottom Of My Glass which is the b-side of Oh Deanna Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Night of the Lotus Eaters The great man from his great new album Dig, Lazarus Dig!, as with the Mode, I am STILL awaiting a bad Nick Cave album (I know some of you may think that Nocturama wasn't great, but I think its not one of his best but still streets ahead of most music out there) NYPC – The Bomb (Dirty Disco Youths Maximal Bomb Remix) Storming remix of a storming song by a storming band----- a lot of storming going on here Siriusmo – Mein menu fahrrad (boys noise edit) Mr Ridha doing what he does best, making Siriusmo sound even better than they allready did, Yazoo – Don’t Go (Electro 2008 Rmx) This is to celebrate the fact that this great band and slice of Electro Pop genius have reformed, they broke up after You and Me Both and never toured with the album, so it will be the first time these tracks are played live:) Etienne de Crecy - Funk (Bloody Beetroots Rmx (video for Funk)) The French former member of Orange being his funky acid electro best, reinvented by them naughty Beetroots. Alex Gopher – Aurora (Riot in Belgium & Knightlife Rmx) Another member of Orange, with another fantastic track remixed beautifuly. The other two member of Orange are now called Air, that is like a supergroup of Electronica creativity and madness, brilliant Late of the Pier – Heartbeat Fast becoming the band to watch on the UK festival scene, this is from their up and coming album called Fantasy Black Channel. Very Numanesque which is high praise indeed Pop Levi – Oh God, (What Can I Do?) This makes me think of T-Rex at their pompous and swashbuckling best. The former Ladytron bassist is also one to watch. Metallica – Master of Puppets (Old School Reunion Rmx) A classic Metallica track given the shredded electro treatment by the Old School Reunion, this came third in a Metallica remix competition, I would have given it first place Shriekback – My Spine is the Bassline (12” Mix) Leftfield 80's dance heaven from Shriekback, makes me remember the Junction and Decodance with misty eyes.... Foetus - Mandelay Mr Thirlwell, a complete nutter, gotta love it
Monday Nights 11pm till 1am Johannesburg Time, Channel 169 Audio Bouquet also 1485AM Radio (Johannesburg Only) http://radiodeconstruction.blogspot.com
Some sad assed deranged probably Goth-wannabee has run off with Ian Curtis's headstone from his grave! REALLY ludicrous really! That is such an 80's thing to do, and even then it was a lame thing to do. I would tell the person to return it but the likelihood of that person being able to read this is negligible, so..... anyway, read on...
By WENN world entertainment news -
Former Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris has spoken of his upset after robbers targeted the grave of his late bandmate Ian Curtis.
The tragic singer committed suicide in 1980 and was laid to rest in Macclesfield, Cheshire in north west England.
But now his grave has now been desecrated by thieves who have stolen the headstone.
And Morris has slammed the macabre act - insisting everyone who knew the late frontman is devastated by the news.
He says, "I just don't understand why anyone would do it. You couldn't sell it on eBay - it's ridiculous and very upsetting.
"There had been the films (2007's Control movie and this year's eponymous documentary) so maybe someone thought they could cash in… or maybe it's someone who is a bit deranged - you'd have to be.
"I'm speechless. It really is not a very nice thing at all."
In further news, the pointless murder of the two French exchange students is horrifying, it even one-ups Mr Fritzl and his bunker, and that takes some serious doing. Who stabs someone 243 times, 80 times AFTER the person is allready dead?? Clearly a complete and utter lunatic. The amount of knife crime and senseless murders happening in London at the moment is insane. It rivals (almost) the kind of shit we have here in South Africa, and we have some pretty scary shit happening here on a day to day basis!! To the friends and families of the two people senselessly murdered, my most heartfelt and sincerest condolences, I can only hope that the crazy fucker is bought to justice sooner rather than later!! Man Charged
Completely off the subject, I have spent many a frustrating hour trying to upload the second hour of my show from monday but the internet God's are conspiring against me. I shall persevere over the weekend!
