Some stuff from RCRD LBL:

The Disco Biscuits
You And I (The Juan MacLean Remix)
Disco Biscuits have long been jam-band-land’s ambassadors to electronic dance music, and their love for DFA has extended to appearances by The Juan MacLean at their Camp Bisco festival, so we honestly expected this sort of aisle-crossing to come sooner or later. And now that we have these ten minutes of deep, hangar-sized house, we feel less guilty about the poncho hanging in the closet.
The Disco Biscuits - You And I (The Juan MacLean Remix)
The Disco Biscuits MySpazz The Disco Biscuits Web

Sebastien Tellier
Fingers Of Steel (Toby Toast Topspin Remix)
Sebastien Tellier’s album, Sexuality, was, in a word, succulent, so we can understand—nay, appreciate—the milking of it for one last 12-inch. Below, grab the exclusive, unreleased, totally left-field downtempo version from London youngin’ Toby Toast.

Casxio
Seventeen (The Glass Remix)
The original version of Casxio’s “Seventeen” showed up in March, but Plant just released it all proper like with this version from The Glass, sounding like it was submerged in liquefied leather and dried out on a subwoofer.
Casxio - Seventeen (The Glass Remix)
Casxio

Pelican
Specks Of Light
Instrumental metal is either your thing or it isn’t, unless we’re talking about Pelican. Dudes aren’t soft, but the sludge they kick around is more cerebral than it is oppressive. And you don’t have to know Calculus to find the first beat of a measure. In short, it’s approachable stuff.
Pelican - Specks Of Light
Pelican
Tomorrow I will be at Kitcheners for a Cellardoor party AND I will be at Gin for my usual saturday afternoon thang with Keith the Klassikist, so yeah, see you all then:) have fun, travel safe, love one another, we need more love in the world!

I'm Not A Band, My Awesome Mixtape, Lunar Youth, Sammy Bananas vs Bag Raiders, Vitalic, The Golden Filter Disco of Doom and Nck Cave

I’m not a Band have some excellent and new music to offer. They make alternative electro pop music, unconventionally combined with violin...you can have a listen at I'm Not A Band MySpazz
I’m Not A Band - This is it
I’m Not A Band - Crazy

And then My Awesome Mixtape sent me this stuff

My Awesome Mixtape – Hearts to Lend
My Awesome Mixtape’s story starts, like that of many other bands, in their bedroom.
That’s where, at the tail end of 2006, Maolo, Checco and Bebo – three spritely Bolognese regaz – half-jokingly start making music. Mixing and matching their favourite styles, they end up generating an original mix of indie rock, hip hop and electronica, the kind you cannot fail to dance to.
In the space of a few months, the band’s first songs become the talk of the town, and soon enough they are hailed everywhere as Italy’s next big thing.
My Awesome Mixtape - How Could a Village Turn Into a Town
My Awesome Mixtape are:
- Maolo Torreggiani
- Andrea Mancin
- Alessandro Scagliarini
- Federico Spadoni

New Groove Armada Vid, Sia, Bubblegum Sci Fi Remix, Kid Sister, Grooms, Beach House, Das Glow

NEW Groove Armada video:

Sia Twittered this yesterday, it's a free track from her new album being released early next year called We Are Born:
Sia - You've Changed

This arrived in my mailbox last night after I had done my previous post:
Bubblegum Sci Fi
This fist-pumping sing along from San Diego based duo Bubblegum Sci Fi comes highly recommended. Fans of Le Castlevania and Designer Drugs dont sleep on this one."

-Gottadancedirty.com

DOWNLOAD Passion Pit - The Reeling (Bubblegum Sci Fi Remix)

And then of course, it has to be RCRD LBL.....yay:

Kid Sister
Right Hand Hi (SonicC Remix)
Kid Sister finally released her debut LP, Ultraviolet, yesterday—pick it up on iTunes, Amazon, the Music Tee, or whichever fine physical outlet you patronize. As a special bonus beat, we’ve got a super swishy unreleased mix of “Right Hand Hi” from Miami house producer SonicC.
Kid Sister - Right Hand Hi (SonicC Remix)
Kid Sister

Grooms
Acid King Of Hell (Guitar Feelings)
There’s nothing overtly psychedelic or doomy about Grooms’ “Acid King Of Hell (Guitar Feelings),” but the parenthetical bears some insight, since it’s on their loud-quiet-loud amp exorcisms that this one really gets lifted.
Grooms - Acid King Of Hell (Guitar Feelings)
Grooms

Beach House
Norway
Beach House timed this one perfectly. “Norway” isn't just made for autumn, it is autumn, ticking along on breath-on-window backing sighs, synths that disintegrate like a bed of fallen leaves and the voice of Victoria Legrand; who inhales oxygen and exhales bitter, bitter, wistful regret.
Beach House - Norway
Beach House

Das Glow
Lite Brite (Strip Steve Remix)
Our partners at Institubes just put out a remix package for Das Glow’s 2008 single “Lite Brite,” with this bugged liquid-funk flip from Boys Noize pal Strip Steve being the essential get. The full release, also has a version from Qebrus and a b-side called “A Lighter Shade Of Bright.”

Tonight I will probably end up here, a REALLY cool party by End is Live featuring Germanies Schlachthofbronx as well as the phenomenal Playdoe and Twelv & Thesis, so it looks to be another brainbender...woooo
Have an awesome weekend people...maybe the rain will stop, clearly a VENGEFUL god is angry with Johannesburg, he is throwing a years worth of rain in but a few short hours....nice...drive safe people, look after yourselves and love one another (prefferably repeatedly)

Introducing KRAUSE, New Kids at the Bar remix and video, Pitch Black, Heroes Agency Mixtape

Introducing Krause from the Netherlands, this is what she has to say: Not only is ‘No Guts, No Glory’ the title of her debut album, it is also the maxim of Krause, alter ego of the Dutch Susanne Clermonts. On her debut album she translates this into steamy disco and pumping electro beats. It is a mix of catchy synth pop and hysterical electro punk, with a sound that makes your trouser legs flutter. The album is produced by the guys behind drum & bass trio Noisia, who are responsible for the consistent, heavy sound of ‘No Guts, No Glory’. for more info go Here

Krause - No Guts, No Glory (Nobody Beats The Drum RMX) or Here
She likes Herring, Cats, Ponies and cycling with the wind behind her.....

Check out her album on iTunes

Cool, now here are some cool choons from New Zealand called Pitch Black:

bio
Pitch Black are award winning multimedia artist Michael Hodgson and Salmonella Dub producer Paddy Free. Having pumped their way through New Zealand’s electronic music scene since their inaugural performance at the annual Gathering New Year's eve festival in 1997, they have spent the last twelve years rousing dance floor punters, generating rave reviews, winning awards and gaining thousands of fans across the world.

NEW Rubix, The Bravery, Au Revoir Simone, Housewives, Miike Snow, Crystal Fighters and some WICKED Otters

Rubix sent me this wicked cool video he did for his latest track, God bless oldschool cut n paste pastiche:
Rubix - Baiser Sur La disco

Rubix - Baiser Sur La Disco
Rubix - Crepe le Piste

And before we get to our daily dose of RCRD LBL, something nice from Kinetika Records, a SNEEK PREVIEW of The Housewives new EP:

Housewives - Dirty Dancing

RCRD LBL and their awesomeness:

Miike Snow
Black & Blue (Savage Skulls Remix)
Of all the versions of “Black & Blue,” this one from Savage Skulls is the most concussive . You have to give it a few minutes though—the real mental, entrails-lasering part starts around 2:30.
Miike Snow - Black & Blue (Savage Skulls Remix)

Au Revoir Simone
Another Likely Story (Aeroplane Remix)
We were already drawn to the coffeepop sway of Au Revoir Simone’s original, but Aeroplane’s rework does ten better, snapping the songbirds off their chilly branch and blasting south in a stained-glass Maserati.
Au Revoir Simone - Another Likely Story (Aeroplane Remix)

The Bravery
The Spectator
The Bravery has kindly gone ahead and dropped yet another track from their upcoming album Stir The Blood. “The Spectator” is lush with angst, strangled melodies and the band’s nuanced strain of dark dance.

Crystal Fighters
I Love London (In Flagranti Vintage Mix)
Crystal Fighters are Spanish, Kitsune-signed electro kids with party mantras like parasites. Here’s their new single, “I Love London,” which In Flagranti have sculpted into this particularly huge, chugging mass of arena-disco.

RIP Jerry Fuchs

Last week the phenomenal drummer Jerry Fuchs passed away following an unfortunate accident where he fell down an elevator shaft at his home, truly a sad day indeed:

Juan MacLean will DJ a benefit show in memory and in tribute to friend, band mate and legendary drummer Jerry Fuchs, who passed away in an unfortunate accident in the early hours of November 8. The show will take place November 20 at San Francisco’s Mezzanine (444 Jessie Street). The show will also feature a DJ set with Parallels. A donation will be made to the Fuchs Family.

Jerry was a celebrated drummer, having recorded and toured with The Juan MacLean, Holy Ghost!, Maserati, !!! and Turing Machine. Born December 30, 1974 in Marietta, Georgia, he attended the University of Georgia and moved to New York in 1995, quickly becoming a beloved fixture on the city’s music scene. When not touring, Jerry worked as a graphic designer for publications like Chunklet and Entertainment Weekly. Juan MacLean describes Jerry as “the absolute best at what he did” and a “supportive and loyal friend.”

The Juan MacLean has released a video of the extended version of “Happy House,” featuring some of Jerry’s best work. Shot at the Double Door in Chicago on June 16 of this year, the song is a crowd and critic favorite, having been named one of Pitchfork’s 100 Best Tracks of 2008. At nearly 20 minutes long, the performance is a testament to Jerry’s talent and dedication to his craft.

TJM and DFA also just released "Happy House 2 x 12" with remixes by a wide range of dance music's all-stars: Chateau Flight, Paul Woolford, Will Saul & Mike Monday, and VHS Or Beta. Lazaro Casanova, an up-and-coming artist and DJ from Miami, who turned in the highest-rated remix of the last Juan Maclean single, has been invited back once again.

The Juan MacLean - Happy House (Live @ The Double Door) from The Belmont Sessions on Vimeo.

Some tributes for Jerry:
Juan MacLean
Jerry Fuchs was one of my best and most loyal friends. In other situations it might seem trite or misguided to mention someone's music career in light of such a tragic death, but the truth is that music was an integral part of our relationship. Jerry was with me from the beginning of The Juan MacLean. The band allowed us to travel the world doing something we loved more than anything, and we constantly reminded ourselves how lucky we were, pushing each other to appreciate the life we were living when things got tough.

It is not hyperbole to say that Jerry was the absolute best at what he did. He was a legendary drummer. Other drummers revered him and fans were astounded by his playing. He was always the best part of any band of his which he was a member. And in light of all that, he was relentlessly humble to the point of self-deprecation. He exuded qualities that are are rare in the circles he travelled. He was disarmingly sincere and valued honesty above all else.I have never played with anyone as great as Jerry. I would be hard pressed to name a more supportive and loyal friend. I hope his family finds some bit of solace in the fact that Jerry touched the lives of so many all across the world, as evidenced by the outpouring of support and condolences come flooding in.
Jonathan Galkin - DFA
Today was a really bad day, Jerry, and I could have used one of those big sweaty hugs you gave after a show, when you were genuinely excited and surprised to see me. “Galkin, what the fuck are YOU doing here?!”, you would exclaim, as if i didn’t ever attend the live shows from bands on my own label. You were truly one of a kind, and whether you knew it or not, people wanted to be in the same room as you, or near the same room as you, because maybe just maybe, some of that radiant joy and in-the-moment spirit you exuded would rub off on them. You didn’t take it all with you, because there are a lot of people today who are going to feel mighty responsible to carry and spread that joy with them for the rest of the time they have here. And who knows now how long that might be. You were a really good drummer, some might say the best we had, but you were a greater friend. I love you and miss you, Jerry.
Brian Long - Yes Know Management
Jerry cast an incredible glow on every situation he entered into. It was an honor to work with him. His drumming skills were truly a gift which he used to connect with many people. This is what musicians are put on earth to do. Jerry embodied this to the fullest. He will be missed but remembered with a smile and a laugh.

Holy Hail
The Dying Party EP
Here is Holy Hail’s new EP, The Dying Party, its entirety, from the foggy clubsphere of “What’s It Like To Go Away” through till the elegiac party’s-over closer “Carry On.”
The band have been working closely with Education Through Music on the release, an organization that initiates music education programs in New York City and California. And since they're being pretty benevolent with this whole free record thing, maybe y’all could head over to the ETM website to donate some much needed and sure to be well-used clams?
Holy Hail - The Dying Party EP

THEN, I saw this letter online and HAD to post it, it’s hilarious, CLEARLY the guy is peeved with his team!!!

Dear Players of Grimsby Town FC

I am writing with regard to my absolute astonishment and disbelief as to the sheer magnitude of your complete lack of talent and failure to carry out the job for which you are paid to do. I am not aware of any swear word or other derogatory phrase in my current vocabulary which comes close to a description of your ‘performance’ (and I use that term loosely) this afternoon, but let me just say that you have collectively reached a level of inadequacy and ineptitude that neither I nor modern science had previously considered possible.

In fact I recall a time, in my youth, when I decided to call in sick at work and instead spent the entire day in my one bedroom flat wearing nothing but my underpants, eating toast and wánking furiously over second-rate Scandinavian porn. Yet somehow, I still managed to contribute more to my employer in that one Andrex-filled day than you complete bunch of toss-baskets have contributed to this club in your entire time here.

I would genuinely like to know how you pathetic little píssflaps sleep at night, knowing full well that you have taken my money and that of several thousand others and delivered precisely fúck all in return. I run a business myself, and I believe I could take any 4,000 of my customers at random; burn down their houses, impregnate their wives and then dismember their children before systematically sending them back in the post, limb-by-limb, and still ensure a level of customer satisfaction which exceeds that which I have experienced at Blundell Park at any time so far this season.

You are a total disgrace, not only to your profession, not only to the human race, but to nature itself. This may sound like an exaggeration, but believe me when I say that I have passed kidney stones which have brought me a greater level of pleasure and entertainment than watching each of you worthless excuses for professional footballers attempt to play a game you are clearly incapable of playing, week-in, week-out.

I considered, for a second, that I was perhaps being a little too harsh. But then I recalled that I have blindly given you all the benefit of the doubt for too long now. Yes, for too long you have failed to earn the air you’ve been breathing by offering any kind of tangible quality either as footballers or as people in general. As such, I feel it’s only fair that your supply runs out forthwith.

I trust, at this precise moment in time, that Mr Fenty is in his office tapping away on the Easyjet web site booking you all one-way flights to Zurich, complete with an overnight stay with our cheese eating friends at Dignitas. Don’t bother packing your toothbrush – you won’t need it.

In the event that our beloved chairman can’t afford the expense (understandable given that he’s soon going to have to assemble a new squad from scratch), then I am prepared to sell my family (including my unborn child) to a dubious consortium of Middle Eastern businessmen in order to pay for the flights. Christ, I’ll drive you there myself, one-by one, without sleep, if I have to.

Failing that, understanding that most dubious Middle Eastern businessmen are tied-up purchasing Premier League football clubs, I ask you to please take matters into your hands. Use your imagination, guys – strangle yourselves or cover yourself in tinfoil and take a fork to a nearby plug socket, or something. Just put yourselves and us fans out of our collective misery.

So, in summary, you pack of repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards; leave this club now and don’t you fúcking dare look back. You’ve consistently demonstrated less passion and desire than can commonly be found within the contents of a sloth’s scrótum, so frankly you can just all fúck off – don’t pass go, don’t collect your wages, don’t ever come back to this town again.

I look forward to you serving me at my local McDonald’s drive-thru in the near future.

Yours sincerely

A very disillusioned Mariner

On the subject of football, check this out!!

COOL, well, it’s been an awful week, so hopefully everything will get better…love is hard

NEW Biscope, Violca, Mum and A Place To Bury Strangers

Biscope are a Dubstep duo from South Africa. Their sound is a mix of influences, taking in the modern sonics of wobbly bass music and electronica mashed together with the tried and tested sounds of soul, funk, hip-hop, reggae and classic dance music.

Ben E King - Stand By Me (Biscope Boot) (soundcloud link)

An epic remix of the all time feel-good classic that subtly builds from minimal organic textures into a stomping bass driven banger.

Biscope - Fire (soundcloud link)

Stereotypical Dubstep basslines and beats meet up with cut up rap samples, video game sounds and falsetto funk to make a mixture of dance-floor magic.

Buy more Biscope music on Juno Download here
Check em out on: Facebook.

And then a limited time download of Disco Villains remix of Empire by Violca from Kinetika Records:
Violca - Empire (Disco Villains Rmx)

And the usual RCRD LBL goodies:

Múm
Sing Along (FM Belfast Remix)
Icelandic quartet FM Belfast turns Múm’s “Sing Along” into a fuzzy-gutted romp of awestruck vocals and buoyant synths—even if at times those synths sound like a bag of knotted nerves.

A Place To Bury Strangers
In Your Heart (Cereal Spiller Remix)
The first single off A Place To Bury Stranger’s sophomore album follows the record’s maxim: to make the “craziest, most f*cked-up recording ever.” This slept-on Cereal Spiller rework of “In Your Heart” somewhat mitigates the original’s nightmarish reverb and gut-wrenching frequencies, favoring a slicker, snythier ode to 1980.
A Place To Bury Strangers - In Your Heart (Cereal Spiller Remix)

One more track from Girlie Action its from the new LP of Scanners called Submarine which is dropping early next year:

COOOOOL, some wicked cool stuff here, Biscope is the Rumney brothers, they are brilliant!!!
Sad....

THEN, some more new stuffies from RCRD LBL:

The Bravery
Slow Poison (Drop The Lime Remix)
While NYC glam dancers the Bravery prep a fresh LP, Stop The Blood, they’re letting first single, “Slow Poison,” float around in remixed form thanks to our dude Drop The Lime, who left the bass sabers at home for this one and instead went in with steel drums. We are vibing with it in a rave-with-umbrellas-in-our-drink kinda way.

Passion Pit
Little Secrets (Jaymo & Andy George Remix)
Ain’t nothing dance-geek about Jaymo & Andy George—there’s a little Moroder in there at the start, sure, but on the whole they’re faithful to “Little Secrets”’ carefree buoyancy, working it up into unabashed chart-house for you to smile at and make up funny dance routines to.
Passion Pit - Little Secrets (Jaymo & Andy George Remix)

Fool’s Gold
Surprise Hotel (Toadally Krossed Out Remix)
L.A. afro-rock collective Fool’s Gold get the amphibious remix treatment from Mad Decent’s masked crusaders Toadally Krossed Out, they of many ribbits and squiggly beach rave synths. If there ever was a Weekend At Bernie’s 3: The Ibiza Adventures, this would have to play during the credits.

Just a footnote, thanks to everyone who came to Kitcheners and Gin on Saturday afternoon and night, it was fun.
It's been a strange few weeks...but we march on and we conquer....
Love and Peace to all of you, this world is going madder and madder what with Islamist extremists murdering Christian Missionaries et al...there's hardly a corner of this planet that has any lasting peace anymore....too many people, so many of them angry, some of hose angry people hold sway over millions...making them do their angry and selfish deads whilst they sit back and watch. All of us are just trying to get by, trying to find that one person that they can love and hold and not feel that they have to lose themselves to find someone else...we humans are simple folk, give us enough food and love and nurturing and we are peaceful people, take anyone of those away and thats where you have problems...yeah, I am oversimplifying things, but sometimes you have to simplify things to get to the root of all things, we forget that sometimes. We all have our private struggles and demons to bear, some more than others, but everyones problems are their own and therefore no less importamt than someone elses, cut people some slack, if someone cuts you off in traffic, don't react in anger, maybe they are so full of anxiety that they can't pay their mortgage or someone has died or gone into hospital that they aren't concentrating...we ALL have pressures, let people be and try love one another...there isn't enough of that in this world at the moment. Anyhoo, thats my Hallmark moment over, all I wanted to say was that I treasure all my loved ones, my friends you all have left an indelible mark in my life and for that I am truly greatful, honoured and humbled that you are part of my life, especialy over this past year, it's been a bad one, but it is getting better....thank you all for your support. ALSO, thank you to ALL my readers, I love doing this, it's EXTREME fun....music and randomness are my passion and it's great to have a platform to be able to do this. Anyhoo, off to Bikram Yoga tonight for my first lesson.......OMG, I have been told to expect pain......woooooooo....as I used to be a cage fighter, clearly pain is not that much of an issue with me...but we shall see...

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Dances With White Girls, Fischerspooner, Thao With The Get Down Stay Down, Kitsune, Charlie Winston, Heather Greene

FIRSTLY, we DO have to appreciate the little things in life....like sticks and stuff...

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
Higher Than The Stars (Saint Etienne Visits Lord Spank Remix)
We’re never not cloud-surfing at sunset with Saint Etienne, and this remix—weightless with foggy keys and unsinkable hand drums—is no exception. Just don’t ask us who Lord Spank is.

Dances With White Girls
Jiggle Dat
Been almost a year since we featured self-dubbed “thug house” proponent Dances With White Girls, though this new slap has us thinking he’s actually been grinding. If pitched-down raps meshed with big room house keys is your thing (it should be), we just made your day.

Fischerspooner
Supply & Demand (AutoErotique Remix)
In a bit of a surprising move, our partners at Dim Mak are putting out a new single from New York electro outrageists Fischerspooner. Titled “Supply & Demand” and out November 17th, it will, of course, come backed with a grip of remixes, notably this propulsive one from Toronto’s AutoErotique.

Thao With The Get Down Stay Down
When We Swam
While we’re told their new album, Know Better Learn Faster, is a break-up record, San Franciscan indie trio Thao With The Get Down Stay Down don’t do mopey. “When We Swam” paints the severance in beach metaphors and twisted doo-wop rhythms.

PEOPLE, as promised, after my lovely TUNA salad, I have decided to TREAT you all, TRASH YOURSELF are on their way to EUROPE (see end of post for dates etc), and they are laid over in New York so they have sent us ALL their new mixes and stuff...they don't want you to be lonely as they are kind people, lovely people, and they hang around in fields of flowers and stuff, just for you, plotting schemes of making your ears bleed and your hearts melt, without FURTHER ado, ladies and gentlefiends, I give you, the one, the only TRASH YOURSELF!:

We are on our way to Europe for some shows and stuck here in New York City on an eight hour layover. We figured this would be a good time to send out some new remixes!

NEW Don Diablo, The Cloud I'm Under, Rene Lopez, Vokab Company, Alan Wilkis Remix, Violca, Lindstrom, Major Lazer, N.A.S.A., VHS or Beta, Rob....

RIGHT, stuff has been piling up again, COOL new stuffies from RCRD LBL, but then you’d expect that, wouldn’t you, and then some awesome stuff from Girlie Action, Don Diablo, The Cloud I’m Under, Rene Lopez, Vokab Company, Shwayze (Alan Wilkis remix) AND Violca of Kinetica Records!!! ADORE AWAY (oh, and some DREADFUL driving):

Lindstrøm & Christabelle
Baby Can’t Stop (Aeroplane Remix)
This remix for Lindstrøm and Christabelle’s new album, Real Life Is No Cool, contains all Aeroplane’s better tendencies—skybound arpeggios, assured rhythms, the general feeling that we are riding on a magic carpet above the Amalfi coast–and also acoustic guitars.

Major Lazer
Jump Up (Laza Beam Remix)
Been a minute since we’ve had some Major Lazer on the site, so we’ll welcome this new Laza Beam refix like the friend we made in the summer and just ran into in biology class. The Trinidadian producer filled out the Crookers-assisted “Jump Up” with more squelch and rotundness, additions we’ve never been averse to hearing.

N.A.S.A.
Whatchadoin (feat. M.I.A., Santigold & Spank Rock) (Evil Nine Mix)
Below, Evil Nine bring new hurt to an old favorite—N.A.S.A.’s “Whatchadoin” featuring Spank Rock, Santigold and M.I.A.—sharpening it into quite the ear-bleeder.
N.A.S.A. - Whatchadoin (feat. M.I.A., Santigold & Spank Rock) (Evil Nine Mix)
NASA

VHS or Beta
Feel It When You Know (LA Riots Remix)
Looks like VHS or Beta wrestled with their dance demons and came up synth. It’s a fitting progression for a band best-known for the rock side of their hybrid party act. LA Riots’ edit of “Feel It When You Know” is a high-gloss, glammy anthem to blast in the dark.
VHS or Beta - Feel It When You Know (LA Riots Remix)

Rob
Femme et Enfant (feat. Sebastien Tellier)
Tellier looms large on this one, bending it more towards the plush neon funk of Sexual Sportswear than Rob’s Dodecalogue’s previous, headier offerings.

Alan Wilkis sent me his new remix:

And then THIS arrived in my post, wicked, me likey:
Vokab Kompany has burst on the scene after quickly ascending the rank of the west coast market. With relentless drive they have worked to combine high-energy stage performances, 7 piece live indie electro hip-hop (with a violinist to boot), with catchy hooks and a rhythm based harmonic vocal delivery to find themselves emerging from an underground electronic, hip-hop scene, which primarily embraces DJ's and MC's. While they still have an edge and integrity in their writing process/production, their songs have mass appeal. It's a sound that has deep indie roots, with forays into soul, funk and fresh west coast hip-hop laced over electronic beats and all performed LIVE!!
Navigating through today's diverse and often fractured music industry with an unending commitment to their fans, Vokab Kompany is releasing "The New Kong" with their management and marketing company The Confluence. The album will be released direct to fans where their engagement and feedback will be woven into future releases.
"We are releasing this music independently because our music has an audience and it's all about them. So our voice, sound, and the effort we brought to this project both in the studio and on stage can finally have a chance to resonate within our community of listeners." -VK
