Blitz The Ambassador
Something to Believe
We are easily wooed by horns. Not all the time, but if there is a little shuffle and some cowbell milling about, throwing a trombone or trumpet or three in as well isn’t going to hurt. Which is why this new jam from Brooklyn’s Blitz The Ambassador is getting us all excited. It has some dope horns!

William Fitzsimmons
Good Morning (Live at Downtown Studios)
This version of his tune “Good Morning” was recorded live at the Downtown Studios in New York, a suitable rise-and-shiner for more than the obvious reasons. Basically, it’s the kind of song you need playing in your ears on the way to the office after leaving your better, warmer half sleeping in bed.

Little Boots
Remedy (A1 Bassline Get Hype Remix)
A1 Bassline takes no prisoner. The Londoner’s remix of Little Boots’ “Remedy” finds the femme actuelle whirring and beleaguered within a maelstrom of Hardcore, Speed Garage, Bassline and Acid House.

Major Lazer
Hold The Line (Prince Zimboo Freestyle)
Prince Zimboo’s “Hold The Line” freestyle just came in from Mad Decent, who are releasing a Zimboo single, “To The Rescue” b/w “Lightswitch”, in August.

B U R N S
B U R N S is totally strobe-ing out the UK electro scene right now. He’s remixing Beth Ditto into a basement maze and boozing up Passion Pit. His own jam is stadium electric guitar and it bangs so loud that we can’t finish this sentence without falling on the floor. Crash! Slam! Ow!

Midnight Rockers Express
Summer 2009 Mega-Mix
Midnight Rockers Express arranged the summer-themed mix with tracks from our digital stacks. Then, DJ GetLive cut it all together in one take, using selections from Rockers’ producer Lee Sanford that date all the way back to our inception. Grab both sides at the links below and check out the linked-up tracklist here.

Bloc Party
One More Chance (Alex Metric Remix)
Kele Okereke’s got a voice and lyrics to suit, of course, romantic neuroses never so far away from a Bloc Party track that it can’t be grappled into a neat metaphor, though this refit seems to usher away lyrical dexterity in favour of one of those famously bare-hearted Okereke refrains.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Heads Will Roll (Tommie Sunshine Remix)
Considering how much collective sweat the Internet dripped for the “Zero” remixes, we’re not all that shocked that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are lining up some more for their second It’s Blitz! single, “Heads Will Roll”. Tommie Sunshine’s cannonball of a version is streaming here.

Lost Valentinos
Thief
“Thief”, Cities Of Gold’s (due this September) first single, is a trimmed mash of overfuzzed precision bass and streetchase tempos that could be our favorite 2004 guitar song for our 2009 selves.

MSTRKRFT
Heartbreaker (ft. John Legend) (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)
If a junkyard pit bull attacked the original, only to have it survive and be subsequently mended with bionic limbs and eyeballs that shoot harpoons, electro demon Wolfgang Gartner’s remix of “Heartbreaker” is what it would sound like.
