Steve Aoki
I’m In The House (feat. [[[zuper blahq]]]) (Gigi Barocco Remix)
Steve Aoki’s “I’m In The House” is electro-house gone meta. For his remix, Gigi Barocco decided to simply unload a few more air raid synths for complete maximalization.

Drink Up Buttercup
Even Think
Drink Up Buttercup recorded, mixed, and mastered “Even Think”—which sounds like Wolf Parade doing David Bowie—in twenty-four hours, which maybe isn’t that impressive in the age of pocket-sized Pro Tools rigs but still means these dudes mean business.

Some stuff I missed on RCRD LBL from last week, what a dumb fuck:

Chromeo
I Can't Tell You Why
Honestly, there are few bands we deplore more than the Eagles, and while this cover is pretty faithful in terms of arrangement, we can totally vibe with it because it sounds like it's from the future rather than 1979 and involves zero singing drummers. So there, we have now admitted to enjoying an Eagles' song.

Florence And The Machine
You've Got The Love (The xx Remix)
To little success, we tried arching our lungs over the cut-up voice of Florence Welch on the hook, and even though met with failure it's still lodged in our brains. The xx resung the rest of the tune for their scissored sorta cover/remix, where xylophone and harp seem like logically urbane instrument choices.

Fool's Gold
Surprise Hotel (Phaseone Remix)
Fool's Gold called in Phaseone for a remix, and it pretty much massively works. Their track duly washed and phased into a bleary-eyed, bleary-everything mesh of electronic shyness.
